The Norwood School

Sixth Form Recruitment and Careers Fair

Over 50 Universities, Sixth Form Colleges, employers and professionals joined our recent Careers Event.

Staff, students and parents used the opportunity to speak to ambassadors about possible future career pathways, very timely for our current Year 9 who are in the middle of making their GCSE choices and Lower Sixth, who are starting to research courses and Universities for when they move on next year.

This was the first year that we have opened the event up to the younger pupils, and so Yr 7, 8 and 9 attended in the morning. It was delightful to see so many students throughout the day engaged in such valuable, meaningful conversations with an interesting array of professionals.

We were joined this year, by a number of providers who are able to offer specialist Level 2 pathways for some of our Year 11 leavers as well as a number of businesses who offer students the apprenticeship route - at level 3 and also Degree level.

Subject specialist staff were on hand all afternoon to speak to Yr11 about our current Sixth Form offer and we were delighted to see so many alumni return to tell current students, first hand, why staying here for their Sixth Form studies had given them such a good grounding and why they would recommend it!

A big thank you to everyone who gave their time and support to make the event such a success!
