Meta – is a new play by Sarah Woods where science and art collide in this funny, powerful Forum Theatre show developed with students from the borough of Tower Hamlets. Neuroscientific findings were shared through physical theatre, video projection and sound design and gave an insight into what happens to our brain (and the rest of us) as we grow up.

The show was performed by young people from the  Act Now programme, which offers creative experiences to those not in education, employment or training or who have experienced homelessness.

It was a privilege to have the company in school and Year 9 enjoyed not just watching the performance but taking part, role playing a variety of parts to explore their choices, opinions responses to the themes.

Daniel Duncanson commented on how interesting it was to take on different points of view and to learn a new and challenging style of theatre. Mr Blakelock was very impressed with the mature, enthusiastic approach of the students.

Cardboard Citizens has been making life-changing theatre with and for homeless people for over 20 years. They create great theatre that makes a real and positive difference to our society and those living in its margins.
