The Norwood School

RS and Philosophy

Purpose

The RS department provides a curriculum that provokes challenging questions about the ultimate meaning and purpose of life, beliefs about God, the self and the nature of reality, issues of right and wrong and what it means to be human.

Our curriculum allows students to acquire and develop the skills, understanding and attitudes to succeed in the 21st century.

We encourage a thirst for knowledge and critical thinking through the study of Philosophy of religions, studying the origins of global faiths and their development and impact on the world around us.

Learning different beliefs or non - beliefs; and how religious views influence the moral decision making of their believers and affect their sense of human behaviour, in order to play a significant role as custodians in their community, helping to collaborate and establish a tolerant and empathetic view of the UK as a multicultural and multi faith society.
