The Norwood School

Another wonderful celebration!

2016 Performing Arts Performance Awards - The PAPAs

What a wonderful red carpet event! The fabulous finale to another fantastic year of showcases and productions ranging from the Dance Showcase – Blaze, to the Schools Shakespeare Festival,  Bull and of course the smash hit of the year – Bugsy! It has been another bumper year with the Performing Arts faculty working tirelessly to put on a mammoth programme of 22 showcases that have highlighted the amazing talents and energy that so many of the children have at The Norwood School. In their acceptance speeches a great many winners spoke movingly about the very special opportunities that they have been given and how they recognise how deeply the staff care about what they do and what an important part of their school life the arts are. One of the many highlights came from those who presented awards throughout the event – with alumni returning from Drama Schools and Universities across the country – proudly letting us know how well they are doing and just what they have been getting up to. The true highlight however, came when the Sixth Form band played an original composition that they had created especially in honour of Ms Wise – who will sadly be leaving us after 18 years of dedicated service. It just won’t be the same without her - there was not a dry eye in the house. Well done everyone and thank you to all the proud parents who have been so supportive of their talented children this year!
