Students take advantage of Unplugged Events at The London Coliseum

Yr 11 students with an interest in the arts attended an Unplugged Event at the London Coliseum one evening this week. They had the opportunity to meet with people working at ENO and get a glimpse behind the scenes.

The workshop explored ENO’s new production of Lulu which is directed and designed by South African artist William Kentridge. Kentridge is known for his animated drawings and films exploring themes of time, hope and politics. The students soon realised how visually and technically extraordinary the production was, using layers of animation and projection in the set design to help tell the story.

The Yr 11 artists found the workshop particulalry interesting - especially those who are interpreting the theme Past Present and Future in their current mock exam unit.

This is just one of the many opportunities that staff, students and families will be taking advantage of this year with our recently established collboration with the English National Opera. Thank you to all the dedicated team at the Coliseum who are facilitating so many incredible experiences and opportunties for us all.
