PE & Sport
Pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 take part in 1hr 40 min sessions of Physical Education each week.
At Key Stage 3 pupils are introduced to a broad and balanced curriculum through the key concepts of outwitting opponents, maximising performance, accurate replication of skills and identifying and solving problems.
At Key Stage 4 pupils are offered the BTEC level 2 in Sport and Health and Social Care. Pupils in Key Stage 4 are also offered the opportunity to study GCSE PE.
The Year 7 Curriculum is based on the development of key skills. When pupils first arrive to the Norwood School they will take part in a range of lessons to introduce them to a variety of sports and test their basic capabilities. Pupils will be introduced to new sports and sports in which they can represent the school in.
This will aid us in determining an accurate end of year target grade as well as those pupils who should be taking part in Team Sports
