We have invested heavily in developing the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). The VLE is a learning platform which can be accessed by staff, parents and students from any computer in and out of school, anywhere in the world!
What are the benefits of the VLE?
Parents and students can access school calendars, homework timetables, after school clubs, lesson materials, resources and interactive whiteboard flipcharts anywhere at any time.
Students are able to catch up on class and homework missed through absence.
Students can easily access and use the materials provided on the VLE to revise from.
Staff can create projects and assignments which students complete and send back to staff electronically. This is then marked and feedback provided to the student, again, electronically.
In the future parents will be able to monitor the day to day lives of their child at school much more closely, for example, attendance and punctuality records, progress made, targets set and even as far as what your child ate for lunch each day.

Students should remember to type _L at the end of their usual school log in name to access the VLE.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Robins at robins.j@thenorwoodschool.org .
Look out for training sessions on using the VLE- all parents are welcome to attend these workshops.
