The Norwood School

Black Lives Matter

Good morning everyone - I hope that this message finds you all well and safe.

In response to the murder of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement, we think it is important that we are providing students with a space to explore and express their views on what is happening.

I would like to bring your attention to something that one of our excellent English staff, Mr Galea, has passed on to staff who will be posting it on google classrooms today.

In response to the murder and the Black Lives Matter movement, sir has put together a presentation, which focuses on the incident involving George Floyd and the protests sweeping through America and across the world.

Please view the attached presentation. We would like you to encourage your son/daughter to take this opportunity to express their viewpoint in the form of an article, speech, poem, plea, poster or drawing.

The submissions will then be included in the next copy of The Norwood Voice when we return to school. The deadline for these submissions is Monday 15th June and all submissions should be sent to Mr Galea (galea.k@thenorwoodschool.org).

Thank you for taking the time to read this email and for encouraging your children to play a peaceful, active part in the protests.
