Dear Parents, Carers and Guardians,

We would like to update you on plans for this coming Thursday 2nd March 2023.

We were very much hoping that there would be some progress in terms of the negotiations between the union and the government and that the planned strikes in March would be withdrawn. However, this has not happened, and so we have to make arrangements accordingly.

The dates with potential disruption are Thursday 2nd March, Wednesday 15th March and Thursday 16th March.

On Thursday 2nd March (this Thursday) we will put in place arrangements to have the following students onsite.

1. Vulnerable students

2. Years 11 and 13 – we will provide quiet study zones for Years 11 and 13 to complete independent work, should they wish to work in school, students can work at home if they prefer.

3. Yr 11 students in school should be in full school uniform and bring their own refreshments for break and lunch unless they receive FSM.

If your child is anticipating coming into school please let us know so that we have an idea of numbers by completing the form here.

All other years (Years 7 – 10 and Lower Sixth) will remain at home. We provided a range of resources for students to work on at home last time and these resources are still available here on the website.  

Students entitled to Free School Meals will continue to receive vouchers. If the remaining two days later on in March go ahead, a further two vouchers will be dispatched nearer the time.

We apologise for the disruption that this will cause your children and yourselves but we know you will understand that this is a national issue and one that we have no control over at a local level.
