The Norwood School

Speak Out!

What a fantastic Regional “Speak Out” Final last night, hosted by The Norwood School!

A very warm public encouraged the best young speakers of Lambeth.

1st place went to Jesse Cescatti-McFarlane from The Elmgreen School.

2nd place went to Thea Pannone from The Norwood School.

3rd place went to Tayla Armstrong-James from Saint Gabriel’s College.

A message from Miss Harborow,

As most of you know, last Thursday Norwood hosted the regional Speak Out final, with Thea and Precious in Year 10 representing the school. The girls both did fantastically, delivering their speeches with passion and conviction. The field was strong and Thea managed to secure second place overall. Both girls put lots of work into their speeches and there was a fair amount of nerves and anxiety before hand, so make sure you say well done if you see them.

You can see Thea's speech online here: http://www.speakoutchallenge.com/category/regional-finals-videos/   and there are some photos here:  http://www.speakoutchallenge.com/lambeth-regional-final-2017-18/

I also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone else involved in helping the event run so smoothly and successfully on the night, and to those in the audience for your support. So many people have told me how impressed they were by the school: the welcome they received, the courteousness of the year 10 helpers, the positive atmosphere, the music and the energy.

Well done and thank you!
