University Visit for Lower Sixth

On only Year 12’s third day in our sixth form, the whole year group travelled by coaches to our partner university, University of Sussex.

Once there we met Student Ambassadors who showed us around the campus and told us the subjects and types of courses (such as sandwich, foundation, joint honours) they were studying. During a lecture, we were given advice on websites to use for selecting courses and institutions, such as ‘Which! University’ and we did a ranking activity that shortlisted our priorities for choosing higher education. On the journey back many students commented that is was a really invaluable trip and it had helped them to put into perspective the upcoming two years of study and what to aspire to.

Good luck to all our new Lower Sixth students as they set off on their first year of A-Levels. We look forward to guiding them through the university applications process in a year’s time!
