Testing at start of term - please read carefully

You may have read that the most recent government guidance will require us to test students prior to their return in September. Testing will be conducted in the sports hall. Access will be via the entrance at the car park end of the sports hall, exit will be via the door to the playground. Parents of students in Yr 8 - 13 are not required to accompany their child. We have already surveyed the school to seek parental permission to test. We will assume that unless you contact us to the contrary, then your response will stand as it did earlier this year.

Safety precautions on our return in September.

Despite the recent changes to Covid 19 restrictions, it is still going to be recommended that ‘people wear a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces, and that face coverings are worn on dedicated transport to school or college’. If your child wishes to continue to wear a face covering in school, then this will be perfectly permissible. We will also be reminding students about the importance of maintaining strict hygiene routines, regularly washing their hands properly, frequently using hand sanitiser and staying a safe distance away from others where possible. We realise that an awful lot of information and emails have been sent to families over the course of the last year, sometimes it must have been quite overwhelming to take in, thank you for your understanding, patience and cooperation with this.
