Business Studies Students out on a Taster Day in the City

Yr 10 Business Studies students were thrilled with their day at the London offices of Reed Smith this week. Students were introduced to how the global organisation represents many of the world's leading companies in complex litigation and other high-stakes disputes, cross-border and other strategic transactions, and crucial regulatory matters. There was a great deal to try to take in!

With lawyers from coast-to-coast in the United States, as well as in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, Reed Smith is known for its experience across a broad array of industry sectors. Reed Smith counsels 13 of the world's 15 largest commercial and savings banks; 25 of the world's 35 largest oil and gas companies; and many of the world's largest pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. Reed Smith's shipping practice has been designated among the most preeminent in the world, and its advertising law practice is regarded as among the legal industry's finest.

Students were introduced to possible careers in the city, they learnt about progression into the industy - through Univserity or higher level apprenticeships and appreciate the importance of gaining the best possible GCSE grades this year and next to give them the opportunity  to access our Sixth Form and beyond.  'It was a really inspirational day, I was so proud of how engaged and enthused the pupils were', said Miss Evans. 'It has certainly given us all a lot to think about and to aim for.'
