Oxford University Visit

University Experience for Scholorship Group

The Year 11 Scholorship/Russell Programme group had a wonderful day at St John's College Oxford University this week. Welcomed by undergraduates and the outreach team, students attended talks about the University itself, met students who spoke about their subjects, the application process and entry requirements and then went on a tour of some of the colleges themselves. This is just one of the outreach events that students are taking part in this year with both Oxford and Cambridge Universities - other opportunities will include tutorials, advice sessions, individual careers interviews, guest speakers in school and further taster days.

Samuel spoke on behalf of all the Norwood students who thanked the university for their continuing support and guidance, saying that the day had been a real inspiration and had given them all a chance to focus on their potential further education pathways just before their mock exams start. Well done and work hard Year 11 - you all know now just how tough it is going to be to secure the grades we know you are capable of, to get those much sought after places at the country's top universities!
