'We’re currently on our way back ! We had a really lovely time overall.'
An extremely coherent, mature letter from our Students 4 Sustainable Futures written to Cathy Twist -Director Education, Learning and Skills.
Dear Mrs Twist,
We are writing to you to address the subject of strike for climate on behalf of our peers at the Norwood School. We are sure you're aware of the email that was sent to Lambeth schools addressing that the head teacher is not allowed to authorise the absences to attend the youths strikes for climate.
Thank you to the Mark Evison Foundation!
I was sceptical at first when my friends insisted we apply for an award. I thought, surely, we didn’t have the skills to develop and carry out a plan completely independently, but still, we went for it. We researched, planned and budgeted and before we even started, we already knew we were more able than we expected; not only did we manage to finish a plan, itinerary, meal plans, it was good enough to earn an award!
On only Year 12’s third day in our sixth form, the whole year group travelled by coaches to our partner university, University of Sussex.
Yr 10 artists visited the magnificent Olafur Eliasson In Real Life Exhibition at the Tate Modern.
Akobuike and Shane in our Upper Sixth met Daniel Levy, the British businessman and the current chairman of Premier League football side Tottenham Hotspur. He has held this post since 2001, making him the longest-serving chairman in the Premier League!
