Pupils will complete 9 units across 2 years. 6 of these units are mandatory and 3 are optional units picked to suit the pupils.  This course will give pupils the opportunity to learn about social care in a classroom setting and also gain valuable experience in social care to set them up for future employment.

Studying a BTEC in health and social care will also help students prepare for further study if that is something that they wish to do. A level three BTEC will give pupils the opportunity to work independently and research the topics that they are studying. Students will have to present their ideas and assignments to others which will give them valuable presentation skills. Pupils will have the chance to also develop their writing skills and produce assignments that are made using the same method that is used at University.

Careers – progression.

The qualification is primarily designed to support progression to support roles in the social care sector.
