Norwood School are very proud to have been awarded the Quality in Careers Standard Stage 3. This is recognition that we provide a high standard of careers education, information, advice and guidance provision.

Joanne Smith, from CSW commented – ‘You have clearly achieved so much recently and, not only is it a pleasure to see your efforts rewarded with successful completion of Stage 3, but also to know that external assessors leave with such a positive impression of the school in its entirety.’

Tina Beard, our assessor, said, ‘I admire how much you and the entire team do and manage to squeeze into each and every week! I was very impressed by all I saw and heard at The Norwood School.’

Please see the full report below, that highlights our many strengths but also the areas that we are keen to improve upon to make the provision even better for every single Norwood student.

Have you heard of Lambeth Made?

‘Lambeth Made’ is a programme which is working to make Lambeth one of the best places in the world for children and young people to grow up.

Find out about the local hub 'Rathbone Place' by clicking on this link.

Please see our Careers Strategy and Policy below.

We are fortunate to have Alix Boyle, our Independent Careers Advisor, in school each week. She is based outside  FO4 on the top corridor. Students are issued with an appointment card on the day of their scheduled meeting to excuse them out of class. As well as group workshops, assemblies and small group meetings, all students in Yr 10, 11 and Sixth Form will receive a one to one interview at some point throughout the year. If you feel that you would like to see Alix again for a follow up meeting or are simply seeking more advice, then please make an appointment to see her through your head of year or Miss Nicholas.

Please come to this event to discuss how we can work more effectively to drive real change for young people in Lambeth.

Contributors include the Leader of Lambeth Council, Squire and Partners, Schools Patrol, young people we've worked with plus many others. We will be running an open space. It should be a stimulating discussion - and we want your input!

At We Rise our mission is to empower young people to create successful futures. But we can't do this on our own. As a community business we want to galvanise the energy of businesses, schools and families to create something that will last.
So far we have engaged 500 young people in high impact work experience, intensive school based programmes and inspirational careers networking events. We have worked with incredible businesses and employers, wonderful schools, inspiring volunteers and fantastic young people.

But there is so much more to do.

9,000 Lambeth teenagers live in families who are struggling to put food on the table and who lack social connections to professional work.
