REMINDER TO PARENTS: GCSE and A Level exams start Monday 13th May. Students have been given individual timetables, revision guides, times and dates of saturday schools, breakfast clubs and additional after school classes. Please ensure that students arrive in plenty of time for all exams and are fully equipped.
I am delighted to welcome you to our school. We are a vibrant and dynamic learning community for children aged 11-18. Our specialism in Performing and Visual Arts complements and enriches our offer. Our curriculum has been described by Ofsted as “innovative and engaging” right through to our thriving Sixth Form, and we offer extensive opportunities for students including established links with world class organisations and educational trips, visits and workshops which enhance their learning experience and contributes to their success.
Evidence can be found in our excellent GCSE grades, with 99% of our students achieving 5+A*-C grades, with 66% achieving these grades including English and Maths. We have recently been ranked 5th best school in England for the value added measure (student progress between Key Stage 2 and GCSE). Our flourishing Sixth Form is going from strength to strength, with 100% pass rate at A Level. We are now looking forward to an exciting future in our state-of-the-art new building, providing an outstanding learning environment and facilities from early 2013.
Our enthusiastic staff are genuinely committed to ensuring each student reaches their full potential. Visitors to our school frequently comment on the positive, family-like atmosphere where each child is known, nurtured and challenged as an individual.
This website will give you a taste of what is on offer at our successful, happy school. To really appreciate ‘The Norwood Factor’, we strongly encourage you to visit and experience the school for yourself. We look forward to meeting you soon.
