Qualification – (BTEC): BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Sports Performance and Excellence

Entry requirements: Minimum of a C grade GCSE English and/or B grade at GCSE PE

Description of the course (Overview):

Pupils will complete 10 units across the two years. 9 of these units are mandatory and 1 unit is optional that will be selected based on the pupil’s preferences. This course gives pupils opportunity to learn about elite athletes and set them up for future employment in a sporting setting.

Studying a BTEC in sports performance and excellence will also help students prepare for further study if that is something that they wish to do. A level three BTEC will give pupils the opportunity to work independently and research the topics that they are studying. Students will have to present their ideas and assignments to others which will give them valuable presentation skills. Pupils will have the chance to also develop their writing skills and produce assignments that are made using the same method that is used at University.
