The Norwood School

Charity Fundraising Christmas 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are launching our Charity Fundraising for this Christmas this week - we will be supporting The Rotary Club Shoe Box Programme, Crisis and collecting donations for the Brixton and West Norwood Food Bank.

Teachers, Tutors and Pastoral Support staff will be speaking to students this week and next about the tremendous work that all three charities do, so please encourage your children to contribute to collections as from Monday 9th December.

Each tutor group will be 'filling' a shoe box for the Rotary Club Collection - please ask the students what Mr Uwaechi spoke about in his assemblies this week -  appropriate donations for boxes will be as follows;

Year 7, 8 and 9 younger children, Yr 10 and 11 Teenagers and Yr 12 and 13 OAP's.

The food bank would be grateful for tins of fish, custard, rice pudding, corned beef and pies, UHT fruit juice, UHT full fat milk, washing powder and washing up liquid. They do NOT need pasta or tea thank you. Donations will be taken/delivered on Wednesday 18th December.

We would also like each tutor group to raise enough to reserve just one place at a Crisis table for lunch on Christmas day - just £28.87. Donations will 'buy' your child's tutor group's Christmas Crisis decorations that will adorn the trees in the atrium.

We will be encouraging students and staff to wear their fabulous Christmas jumpers/red/green and white outfits on the last day of term for the sum of just a pound!

So help us all help others less fortunate than ourselves. It would be great if each tutor group in the school was able to contribute;

  • A Rotary Shoe Box
  • Items for the Food Bank Collection.
  • £28;87 for Crisis.

Thank you in advance for your kind and generous donations.
