Engineering Work Experience Success with Tideway
Congratulations to Aashish Sharma in the Lower Sixth.
We asked Aashish about his recent success gaining a work experience through ULAS for this summer.
How did you find out about this placement?
‘My tutor and head of year have been encouraging us to apply for relevant summer schools.
I just signed up on ULAS, filled in the required details, wrote an engineering CV and uploaded my application. It was as simple as that!’
How do you think this placement will help you in the long term – looking ahead to University and a career?
‘I know that I want to study engineering in the future and this placement will be so helpful, because it will give me valuable hands on work experience in the engineering industry. I will be able to write about it in my personal statement for UCAS and it will help me stand out from the crowd of other applicants. I know it will involve lots of maths and physics; hopefully I will get to work on live projects as well as meet and learn from professional engineers.
I'm really proud and happy that I have successfully got this placement and I'm looking forward to giving it my best shot and making the most of this excellent opportunity.
I would thoroughly recommend it to next year’s Lower Sixth – it is never too soon to start to think about your summer internships and work experience placements.’
Aashish Sharma is studying A Levels in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.
