Performing and Visual Arts College

Creating Success Together

Welcome to the Norwood School

I am incredibly proud to have been Norwood’s headteacher for the past 15 years and to have overseen such a dramatic transformation in ethos, expectations and outcomes. Our journey has been exciting and rewarding. The conduct, opportunities and experiences we offer are unparalleled and provide a very stimulating environment in which to work and learn.

Norwood School is a forward thinking school; optimistic and ambitious for all. The outstanding achievement of pupils is testament to this.  Norwood consistently outperforms other schools in terms of pupils’ progress whatever the pupil’s starting point. We achieve this by our commitment to a personalised approach and focus on the individual.

Our school is child centred, dedicated to ensuring that our pupils are happy, secure and achieve their potential and beyond. This has never been more important than today.

We are determined to nurture and encourage the interests, abilities and unique talents of all pupils. Our curriculum is broad, bespoke and with personalised pathways, ensuring that pupils experience learning that is challenging, stimulating and well suited to individual needs.  Our specialist status in the Performing and Visual Arts enhances teaching and learning across the curriculum and provides exciting, innovative and engaging learning opportunities which convince pupils that learning can be fun and memorable. We know that our commitment to the Arts helps foster creative, curious and confident learners who have an active voice in their own learning and the life of the school, who leave school well rounded and well prepared for adult life.

Norwood is a compassionate, friendly and successful school. Pupils achieve exceptionally well and enjoy school. Visitors are always impressed by our warm, vibrant and inspiring atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming you to the Norwood School to experience first-hand why Norwood is such an exceptional place to work and learn.
